On May 11, New York’s Bowery Ballroom will host a benefit show for Jackie Farry that will boast the impressive line-up of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Har Mar Superstar, J Mascis, Chavez, Cat Power, and Quintron And Miss Pussycat. For those that don’t know her, Jackie Farry is a tour manager. She’s worked with The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Har Mar Superstar, The Liars and many more of your favorite bands. Last June, while on a world tour with The Datsuns, Jackie was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a rare form of cancer. As you all know, working in the music biz doesn’t exactly go hand in hand with a killer health plan (if you get one at all), so as you might imagine, Jackie has run into some hard times financially. The proceeds from the Fuck Cancer show will go to benefit her. Lend a hand if you can.
