On Wednesday, May 19 The Strokes will kick off what is to be a stellar summer of shows at the Central Park SummerStage. Also on the itinerary are back to back nights with Rufus Wainwright/Ben Folds/Guster, and single night performances with Devo/Yeah Yeah Yeahs/stellastarr*, Lucinda Williams/Emmylou Harris/Patty Griffin/Buddy Miller/ Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, and Jack Johnson/G. Love and Special Sauce/Donavon Frankenreiter.

Tickets to all shows go on sale this Saturday at noon and can be purchased at the Roseland Ballroom box office (239 W.52nd St. – 1st day only) and through Ticketmaster. Don’t bother trying to buy Strokes tickets though. They’ve already sold out, according to Clear Channel’s press release. You’ll just have to use those industry connections. We hope you’ve got enough juice.

Central Park SummerStage is located at Rumsey Playfield – 69th St, mid-park, Central Park (enter at 69th and 5th Ave.)
