Wilco Sign On For Lollapalooza, Plot Other Headlining Gigs

Chicago’s favorite rock super heroes, Wilco, are beginning to plan their first round of post-rehab dates. On August 3, 6, and 12, the band has signed on for Lollapalooza shows in Detroit, Toronto, and Cuyahoga Falls, OH, respectively. Wilco has also started planning gigs leading up to their Lollapalooza dates as well, among them are shows in Dekalb, IL, New York, Washington, DC, a hometown gig in Chicago and a few others. The follow-up to Wilco’s critically acclaimed 2002 album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, entitled A Ghost Is Born, is set for release on June 22 through the eclectic Nonesuch Records label.

The band will, however, not be in the States for the release of the record. They kick off a long stretch of European festival dates on June 20 in Oslo, Norway at the Norwegian Wood Festival. The band will be overseas through July 15, where they will play a headlining gig at the London Astoria, after which they’ll head back home to get ready for Lollapalooza.
