Fader Films “Hook” Up With NBA For Nationwide Screening Deal

Hooked: The Legend Of Demetrius “Hook” Mitchell, the first title to be produced by FADER Films, is now part of a nationwide screening deal with NBA Entertainment. The film, which tells the compelling story of incarcerated Bay Area street ball legend Demetrius “Hook” Mitchell, made the film festival rounds this year and last and will now be officially released in the Fall of 2004. We’ve mentioned the film before on The Tripwire, but for the newcomers (and the slackers), Hook Mitchell is said to be the greatest basketball player never to make the NBA. Playing ball on the mean streets of Oakland with peers like Jason Kidd, Gary Payton, Antonio Davis and Brian Shaw, it wasn’t an injury that kept Hook from making the NBA. Instead, a series of bad decisions, drug addiction and extraordinary circumstances sent Hook to prison instead of the NBA draft. Hook Mitchell has recently been released from prison and will be reuniting with childhood friend Gary Payton TONIGHT at 8:30PM (ET) on Fox Sports’ The Best Damn Sports Show Period! Tune in.
