Austin City Limits Festival Promises Eclectic Acts

Franz Ferdinand, The Beta Band and Modest Mouse are among some of the first acts to be announced for this year’s Austin City Limits Festival, set for September 17-19. More than 130 acts will play on eight stages erected in Austin’s Zilker Park. Others already confirmed include The Pixies (who announced their participation in the festival along with their fall tour plans), Sheryl Crow, Trey Anastasio, Dashboard Confessional, Solomon Burke, Big Head Todd And The Monsters, Ben Harper and Jack Johnson and Robert Randolph And The Family Band. The first official list of performers will be announced in June, but three-day tickets can already be purchased for $70 on the Austin City Limits website.

According to Billboard, the festival will also feature the work of local artisans at the onsite SoCo art market and offer fans a chance to trace the history of the festival’s namesake PBS series in the ACL Experience tent. Those who can’t bare to be offline for more than a few hours at a time will be glad to know that SBC YahooDSL will erect an internet cafe that will allow free online access to festival goers as well.
