Spidey Ensnares Train, Dashboard In Web Of Soundtrack Success

The first Spider-Man movie soundtrack spawned the smash hit “Hero” from Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott, a song that remained at #1 for a seemingly endless period of time and eventually made everyone hate Chad and Josey’s guts. Now, with the impending release of the summer blockbuster-in-waiting, Spider-Man 2, a new pair of musicians are hoping to have the same gut-hating, play it to death success as their predecessors. However, instead of teaming up for one single, Billboard reveals that both Train and Dashboard Confessional will simultaneously release “Ordinary” and “Vindicated,” respectively, as simultaneous first singles. The album, dubbed Music From And Inspired By Spider-Man 2 will be released on June 22 through Columbia Records. Eight days later, on June 30, Spidey 2 will hit theaters.

The soundtrack will also feature previously unreleased songs from Jet, Yellowcard, The Ataris and Hoobastank, as well as previously available songs from Lostprophets, Smile Empty Soul, Midtown, and Taking Back Sunday.
