Nick Cave Readies Double Disc For September Release

Before Marilyn Manson was the Prince of Darkness, there was another: Nick Cave. While Caveís blackness had nothing to do anything vaguely perceived as Satanic, he was still amongst the darkest around. Now, he and his Bad Seeds have a few albums up their sleeves. First up is a double album, Abbatoir Blues/The Lyre Of Orpheus. The two-disc set will arrive in September via Mute worldwide, with Anti- having control in the US (although no firm date yet), and will feature Cave pals Mick Harvey and producer Nick Launay. Itís Caveís first record since last yearís Nocturama and first without guitarist Blixa Bargeld. Next year, the Bad Seeds plan to issue a B-sides/rarities compilation, with a hopeful date of February 7, according to Billboard.com. No word yet as to the contests of that set, but chances are, if you keep reading the Tripwire, youíll find out.
