Chappelle To Play Rick James On The Big Screen… Bitch!

The world has fallen in love with Dave Chappelle for his hilarious sketch-comedy show on Comedy Central, and no sketch has hit viewer’s funny bones quite like his portrayal of the Super Freak himself, Rick James. From the suburbs to the projects, kids and adults alike can be heard saying, “I’m Rick James, Bitch!” Chappelle is now in early talks to take on a more serious James persona for a forthcoming biographical film based on James’ autobiography, Memoirs Of A Super Freak. According to Billboard, producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is currently in negotiations with James to acquire the rights to the book for a Paramount film. I think I’d personally rather see two hours worth of “Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories,” but hey, that’s just me. It could actually be a chance for Chappelle to tackle a serious acting role.
