Damien Rice B-Sides EP Due Next Month

On July 20, Warner Bros. will release B-Sides, a seven-track EP that collects previously unreleased tracks from golden-voiced singer/songwriter Damien Rice. According to Billboard, the EP will include live versions of “The Professor,” “Woman Like A Man,” and “Delicate,” the original demo of “Lonelily,” the B-side “Moody Mooday” and a 1997 demo version and instrumental version of “Volcano.” Rice exploded onto the scene with his Shortlist Music Prize-winning album, O, which has sold over 268,000 copies in the US since its release in 2003. The Irish singer/songwriter is now putting that success to good use.

June 25 will see the release of a new Damien Rice single titled “Lonely Soldier,” the proceeds of which will go to the Irish anti-war movement. He is also scheduled to perform at a free concert in Dublin’s Point called When Bush Comes To Shove, which, as you might imagine, hopes to raise awareness of issues surrounding Bush and the US War in Iraq. The recent 9/11 Commission report which concludes that Iraq had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11 will undoubtedly be among those issues.
