Apple Giving Away iPods To Celebrate 95M-100M Downloads

Still skeptical of downloading as a viable form of distribution? Steve Jobs of Apple says that the iTunes music store is approaching 95 million track downloads and to celebrate the number and the quest for 100 million downloads that Apple will be giving away 50 iPods and a PowerBook computer. For each 100,000th download between 95 million and 100 million, the person purchasing that download will win a 20GB iPod, with the person downloading iTunes track 100,000,000 will get a 17î PowerBook, a 40GB iPod, and a gift certificate for 10,000 iTunes songs. Damn, thatís a pretty tasty prize right there. Stuff you need to fill out your collection at iTunes? Might as well get it in the coming months. The winner might be you.
