Indie rock pioneers Guided By Voices have announced the details of a 25-date fall/winter tour culminating with a New Year’s Eve show at Chicago’s Metro. The jaunt will kick off on August 19 with a performance at NYC’s free Hudson River Rocks concert series and will hit most major markets before wrapping things up in the Windy City. Two night stands at New York’s Irving Plaza, Portland’s Berbati’s Pan and Chicago’s Metro are all on the agenda as well. As previously reported, GBV will split up at the conclusion of this tour, which comes in support of their final album, Half Smiles Of The Decomposed (August 24 via Matador).
According to Billboard, tickets for the band’s December 31 final show will go on sale on July 31. They will be available through the Metro box office, Reckless Records (Chicago/London) and Ticketmaster. There will be two ticket prices offered, $75 and $125, the latter of which includes balcony access and the opportunity to attend an after show party/meet-and-greet.
