You like to run or just like good music? Are you in NYC, Portland, OR, or Chicago? If so, you can head out to take part in the Nike Run Hit Wonder event. Pairing 5K and 10K races with performances from bands, the events are sure to get runners and music fans out in force. Nike has roped in “one-hit wonders” to play along the course and those bands include Kajagoogoo, General Public, A Flock Of Seagulls, Dramarama, Tone Loc, and Tommy Tutone. At the end of each race, there will be a concert from seminal post-punk/new wavers Devo. this weekend is the NYC event, with Portland fitness types hitting the pavement on August 1, and the humidity-laden Chicago event being held once it cools down a bit on September 23. Strap on your shoes, do your heart a favor, and be rewarded by some choice tunes at the same time. Sounds like a plan – go sign up!
