Soundtrack Of Our Lives Record Over Forty Songs For Fourth Album

Swedish rock troupe Soundtrack Of Our Lives has been working with longtime co-producer Johan Forsman since August of last year on the follow-up to their Grammy-nominated third album, Behind The Music. During that time, they’ve recorded over 40 songs for their fourth album, dubbed Origins. Although they initially pondered the possibility of releasing Origins as a double disc, they are now working on trimming those songs down to about 15 that will ultimately wind up on the album. The remaining tracks will be released as a follow-up sister album called Origins Support. The first installment of Origins is slated for release in February 2005 with a coinciding US tour in the works as well. The band will tour Europe this summer, including performances at the Reading and Leeds festivals.

Though the band is famous for their psychedelic rock sound, the new album was recorded completely illegal-substance free. Speaking with Rolling Stone, guitarist Mattias Barjed said, “It’s been working out fine without the drugs this time.” He followed that up with, “No, seriously. it sucked. It was horrible. I need a fucking fix man! Please, do you have anything on you. PLEASE!!! I’ll do anything you want. Anything!” (just kidding)
