Roger Waters/Tommy Mottola Bring The Wall To Broadway

If Billy Joel and Abba can do it, you’re damn skippy Pink Floyd can – bring a show to Broadway, that is. According to Billboard, Miramax Films and Tommy Mottola have teamed up to develop and produce a Broadway musical based on Pink Floyd’s The Wall. Floyd mainman and co-founder Roger Waters sold the rights to the project to Mottola and Miramax, but he will be on-board to write the show’s book and arrange and orchestrate music for the production.

“There are few projects as timeless as ‘The Wall,’” Mottola says. “Even after two decades since its first release, ‘The Wall’ continues to break through every generational, socioeconomic and political boundary.” Seeing as the double disc concept album has sold over 23 million copies, I’d say he’s right. We’ll give you more details as they become available.
