Pearl Jam To Begin Work On New Studio Album

After releasing 10,234 live albums over the last couple of years, Pearl Jam is planning to go back into the studio this winter to work on their eighth full length studio album. No release date is set as of yet, and manager Kelly Curtis didn’t really have much to tell Billboard in that department, saying only, “When they’re done, they give it to us and we go.” Pearl Jam ended their long-time deal with Epic Records last year and have since released Live At Benaroya Hall through their own Ten Club fan organization along with retail distribution through BMG. The band isn’t sure as to who will be putting out the new record or if a new label deal is even necessary.

“This was a perfect record to try something new with some different folks,” he says. “Luckily, we don’t have to decide [about the possibility of signing with a new label] right now. We want to do as much as we can ourselves, and for what we can’t do or don’t want to do, we’ll rely on someone else.”

As previously reported, Pearl Jam will be teaming with a number of artists for the Vote For Change Tour, which will be making stops along battleground states beginning in October. Pearl Jam will be partnering with Death Cab For Cutie for the trek.
