With a slew of positive press preceding the release of their new album, Rilo Kiley are riding high at the moment. Everyone from Time Magazine to Vanity Fair to Spin have praised the band’s third effort, More Adventurous, for living up to its name. Next Tuesday (August 17), More Adventurous will hit the streets via the band’s own Brute/Beaute label. The LA-based quartet will spend the first month or so of the album’s release relaxing at home, but on September 23 in San Francisco, Rilo Kiley will embark on an extensive, 30-date North American tour. Hitting primary and secondary markets along the way, they’ll will wrap things up with a Halloween night gig in LA at a venue TBD.
The first single from More Adventurous, cockily titled “It’s A Hit”, will be shipped to commercial alternative specialty outlets Wed, Aug 25. It will be impacting the following week so we’ll see if, like the album, the single can also live up to its name.
