More Big Names Join QOTSA In The Studio

Queens Of The Stone Age head honcho Josh Homme has called in some more rock & roll firepower for the band’s forthcoming, as-yet-untitled new album. After the old, long bearded guitarist for ZZ Top, Billy F. Gibbons, stopped by a couple of weeks ago, Homme wisely chose to bring some female companions in to help out, namely Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson and the Distillers’ Brody Dalle. Speaking on the official Garbage website, Mason said, “”It was so much fun. [Dalle] has a crazy voice. She can really sing and what’s even cooler about her is that she has no fucking idea just how good she is.” That’s some hefty praise coming from Shirley Manson, nice work Brody.

The impending album will be the band’s first since the far-from-amicable departure of bassist Nick Oliveri. According to Billboard, Alain Johannes (Eleven) is believed to be playing bass on the current recording sessions.
