Happy Mondays To Play One-Off UK Gig

The Mondays are back! Shaun Ryder and Bez are getting the band back together. The Pills and Thrills of halcyon Madchester are reforming on August 22 for a London festival show called Get Loaded in the Park. It’s their first show since 2000.

Will this lead to a tour? It’s not been ruled out. The unblinking dancer Bez hinted in NME, “the biggest lesson I’ve learnt in my whole life is never say never.” Ryder added, “In terms of the Happy Mondays we’re doing that gig at Get Loaded In The Park. There is no tour planned as such but if a gig comes along and its in the middle of the Pyrennes mountains or something then we might do it.”

Are other Manchester bands to reform? Calling Johnny Marr and Stephen Morrissey, calling Ian Brown and John Squire. Make it happen.
