New York Senate Candidate Attacks The Boss

With little chance of winning New York’s available senate seat, Conservative Party candidate Marilyn O’Grady is pulling out all the stops. In hopes of keeping her name in the press, O’Grady has launched a “Boycott The Boss” TV commercial in which she says, “He thinks making millions with a song-and-dance routine allows him to tell you how to vote. Here’s my vote: Boycott the Boss. If you don’t buy his politics, don’t buy his music.” O’Grady is clearly upset with Bruce Springsteen, who is one of over 20 nationally recognized musical acts who are taking part in the Vote For Change benefit concerts. These shows begin in October and will be hitting swing states across the country in hopes of raising money and awareness for the Kerry campaign.

According to the Associated Press, O’Grady said Springsteen “has a right to say what he thinks, but we have an equal right to speak. Now that he’s moved onto the political stage to bash my president, it is entirely fair to respond.”

She clearly has the right to make horrible decisions and to waste her party’s money on meaningless issues.
