Brett Anderson Reunites With Bernard Butler

Anglophiles from around the globe wept when Bernard Butler left Suede back in 1994. The song-writing duo of Brett Anderson and Butler was the core of Suede’s brilliance. After a decade apart, the gatekeeper and the key master have finally reunited and are working on a new album. Although this is not a rebirth of Suede, just the thought of Anderson and Butler collaborating again is enough to spread joy throughout their legions of Brit-pop fans. Anderson told NME, “Me and Bernard are back in a London studio putting the finishing touches on what is shaping up to be a truly special record. Usually by this point in making any album I go through a period of doubt about its quality but this time the songs are just getting better.” As if this record wasn’t enough, Anderson is also working on his own solo record. The unnamed collaboration with Butler is to be completed this month, but will not be released until early 2005. Although no US dates have been announced, their first live appearance in the UK is slated for December.
