New Oasis In February? Maybe

A new Oasis record is in the works, but it is looking very unlikely that any new tunes will see the light of day before 2005. The Gallagher brothers entered the studio last November with Death In Vegas’ Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes controlling the knobs. After completing ten songs, Oasis was less than pleased with the recordings and scrapped the sessions. Our favorite Manchester rockers recently went back into the studio again to work on their follow-up to 2002’s Heathen Chemistry. In an interview with Radio 1, Noel Gallagher said, “We’ve finished about 4 tracks now, so I think, hopefully in an ideal world we’ll have a single out by the end of the year but it’s probably looking like it’ll be Feb next year.” The way their recording sessions have gone thus far, we’ll be lucky to hear any new material by next summer. Until Oasis bless us with a new album, at least we have the DVD release of Definitely Maybe to tide us over.
