Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Still Together

2004 has proved to be a year of changes for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Back in April they parted ways with their label, Virgin Records. As of late there have been rumors swirling around that the group is breaking up. Fear not, as BRMC has not split up, and is currently working on their third album. The only truth to the breakup rumors is that drummer Nick Jago’s role in the band may be up in the air. Bassist/vocalist Robert Turner sent a message to the band’s email list stating, “Nick might take some time off and even play drums in other groups here and there, but the doors always open for him to play with BRMC.” Regardless of Jago’s status in the band, the new record must go on. Turner discussed the recording of the untitled album, mentioning song titles such as “Complicated Situation”, “Shuffle Your Feet” and “Gospel”. Although still without a new record deal, they are hoping to release the upcoming album sometime in early 2005. To hear a few new tracks live, catch BRMC at the Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans on October 16.
