Q Awards Nominations Announced

The nominees for Q Magazine’s annual music awards have just been announced, with Franz Ferdinand leading the pack. With four nominations, the Glasgow quartet is up for best new act, best album, best single, and best video. According to BBC online, those with three nominations include Scissor Sisters, The Streets, and Muse. The groups nominated for best act in the world include Radiohead, Outkast, and U2. Radiohead won the award last year, but boycotted the ceremony after Q Magazine described them as “miserable”. Instead of an acceptance speech, they sent a soundless video with text stating, “Radiohead aren’t talking to Q”. If they happen to win again this year, one can only imagine what response they will send. The awards presentation will take place on October 4 at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
