Liars Live Up To Their Name, Pull Out Of Blonde Redhead Tour

Yesterday, we posted a tour itinerary for NYC-based art rock outfit Liars. The band was to play a supporting role on the tour, opening for Blonde Redhead. However, after posting the dates yesterday, we heard rumors that Liars had actually pulled out of the tour. This morning, the rumors proved true when Mute records released the following statement, “Mute regrets to inform you that the Liars have cancelled their fall 2004 tour dates with Blonde Redhead. The Blonde Redhead tour will go on as planned and another opener will be selected.”

We know not why the Liars have cancelled these dates, or if they plan on touring at all this fall/winter season. 4AD/Beggars has a few possible openers in the works and will give us the heads up when one is finalized.
