Joe Pernice Records Ode To Manny

Massachusetts-born Joe Pernice, leader of the aptly named Pernice Brothers and sports masochist, has posted a song in honor of the Red Sox’ Manny Ramirez on their website for a limited-time download. Proceeds from the song, “Moonshot Manny (Pega Luna Manny),” will go towards Boston’s First Night, a non-profit that produces an annual New Year’s Eve celebration. Pernice and the record label, Ashmont Records, are asking for a minimum donation of $1 for the download.

You can find the download here.

Some sample lyrics ( thanks Coolfer):

“And the green wall’s rising
Like a killer in the sun
If he doesn’t judge carom
Than he’s knocking in a run
Every guy wants to be him
And the ladies go crazy:
Manny, hit me home with a moonshot, baby!
Moonshot, baby.”
