Howard Stern Gets Sirius In 2006

The King Of All Media, Howard Stern, will change radio as we know it yet again in 2006 when he will move his #1 rated morning show to Sirius Satellite Radio. After some lengthy negotiations, Stern has decided not to remain with WXRK-FM, New York, when his contract with parent company Viacom (which also syndicates his show) expires in about 15 months from now. “It has been my dream to have the top-rated show in radio since I was five years old,” Stern says in a statement. “Sirius – the future of radio – will take this dream to a whole new level as I bring my fans my show my way. It will be the best radio they will ever hear.”

According to Billboard, the future of Stern’s E! TV show is currently up in the air. He noted on air that though there is still a year remaining on his contract, he has no idea what will become of it.

Sirius is obviously head over heels to have radio’s biggest personality at their company. Sirius president of entertainment and sports Scott Greenstein said, “Howard is an incredible creative and comedic icon. There is absolutely no one like Howard Stern, and I’m excited that, for the first time, his show will be heard across the entire country as it was always meant to be heard.”
