Queens Of The Stone Age Return To Studio… Again

Queens Of The Stone Age are taking their sweet-ass time finishing up work on their follow-up to Song For The Deaf. Josh Homme has confirmed that the new album will finally appear in March 2005. Since they have some extra time before the release, the band is re-entering the studio this month to lay down two more tracks. The two songs expected to go on tape include “The Fun Machine Took A Shit And Died” and “Don’t Need A Name.” According to their official website, “Two new songs just came up and the boys did not want to wait for the record after this to record them. They feel like the weight of the wait until March is already a long enough wait for them to wait.” Ummm…. ok.

In other QOTSA news, it looks like Homme and former bandmate Nick Oliveri have decided to kiss and make up. The pair was seen together in Los Angeles at the hipster magnet Spaceland following a concert by Eagles Of Death Metal. A post on the Queens’ site stated, “I saw Josh and Nick (who was at the show to see the Eagles) embrace, talk, laugh and smile. They may not be playing together but they sure seemed like old friends genuinely glad to be hanging out together.” Awwww, how cute. I predict a buddy-film staring Oliveri and Homme in the near future. Step aside Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson!
