Queens Of The Stone Age Announce Release Date

Queens Of The Stone Age are nearly completed with their fourth album. According to Billboard, the release date has finally been issued for Josh Homme’s latest masterpiece, which will be March 22, 2005. The upcoming collection of rock will be called Lullabies To Paralyze, and will include the track “The Fun Machine Took A Shit And Died,” which may be the greatest song title in history. About that song, Troy Van Leeuwen posted this on the band’s official website: “I think (that) is a good title for a tune so strange. The session started out relatively normal, then took a turn for the bizarre, once longtime friends Dean Ween, Chris Goss and Jesse ‘The Devil’ Hughes scarred this song with their musical branding irons.” Chris Goss produces the Desert Sessions, and Jesse Hughes fronts Josh Homme’s former side-project Eagles Of Death Metal.

Other rockstar cameos include appearances by Shirley Manson of Garbage and Brody Dalle from The Distillers. The rest of the updated QOTSA lineup features Joey Castillo on drums, Dave Catching on guitar, and Alain Johannes on bass. The group is still putting the finishing touches on a few final songs, but at least we can finally begin counting down the days until the follow-up to Songs For The Deaf will finally be unleashed to wreak havoc on the world.
