Decemberists’ Front Man Plans Solo Tour

While most people are thinking about winding down this time of year, others remain busy and prepare for world domination. One of those busy people is Colin Meloy and the rest of the crew in The Decemberists. They just finished up a European tour last month, and in 2005 Colin is planning on embarking on a solo tour in the States.

Colin told Pitchfork what fans could expect from the upcoming tour. “The odd cover, a pile of Decemberists faves, as well as some of the songs off the new record. [Picaresque, set to land March 22 on Kill Rock Stars]” A few of the dates on the future solo tour are with Corrina Repp and all dates will have Carson Ellis. Colin continued, “[Carson] is responsible for the illustrations on all of our records…selling limited edition prints of her artwork as well as original sketches. I’m also in the process on working on a tour-only EP to sell at shows, which will be a short collection of five select Morrissey B-side covers done acoustically.”
