Just a few short weeks after topping the charts with their latest album, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, rock superstars U2 will finally have their legendary status rubber stamped by the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Let’s face it, it’s not like they really need the accolade, but I suppose the plaque will look nice next to the soon-to-be-attained Nobel Peace Price on the wall in Bono’s study. Other inductees include The Pretenders, Chicago blues legend Buddy Guy, R&B singers The O’Jays and soul superstar Percy Sledge. The induction ceremony, the foundation’s 20th, will be held on March 14 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC.

One disappointment is the fact that Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, who were among the list of nominees, did not make the final cut. Had they made the grade, it would have marked the first ever Rap group to be inducted. Well… maybe next year.
