The Tripwire users have spoken, naming Franz Ferdinand’s self-titled album the best of ‘04. It comes as no surprise really that the band which took the alternative world by storm, helped programmers further realize that cock rock is a dying breed and went from nobodys to household names in one short year took the top prize. Part of me thought the Tripwire constituency would have selected a more obscure champion for ‘04, but since The Arcade Fire, Wilco, Muse, TV On The Radio and Ted Leo all made the top 10, I’d say you guys did an admirable job. You even proved to be willing to vote for a hip hop artist, as Kanye West’s breakout album College Dropout took the #5 spot. Thanks to everyone who voted.
