Arguably the originators of modern dance music, synth-pop godfathers Erasure have a busy year planned for 2005. In celebration of the band’s 20th anniversary, they will release a brand new album on January 25 named Nightbird. We’ve been reporting on that for a bit now, so that should not come as too much of a surprise. However, what SHOULD is the fact that Erasure have announced a 19-date US tour in support of the album. Beginning with a five-night stand at New York’s Irving Plaza, “The Erasure Show” (as it has been dubbed) will take the band to major markets across the country and will also include multiple-night stays in other select cities as well.
Washington, DC, will get two nights of Erasure at the 9:30 Club, Los Angeles will get two nights at the Avalon, and San Francisco will enjoy three nights of Erasure at The Independent. For the full list of dates, keep reading.
