Sirius Radio Reels In Ford, Factory Installed Satellite Radios On The Way

After reeling in Howard Stern last year, satellite radio provider Sirius has just snagged another big fish – Ford Motor Company. Beginning with the ‘06 model year, Ford will offer factory installed Sirius radios in the Ford F-150, The Explorer, The Lincoln Mark LT and the Mercury Mountaineer, with 17 more models having the possibility to be added by 2007. Each of these radios will come with at least a six-month pre-paid membership to Sirius.

Though competitor XM radio has about three times as many subscribers than Sirius, this Ford partnership (along with Stern) will help Sirius make some strides in leveling the playing field.
