In the devastating aftermath of the massive Tsunami that swept Southern Asia last week, it seems everyone is doing what they can to help. Citizens of the US, as well corporations, have all donated a great deal of funds to the cause. The music community is no different. In Seattle, two of the city’s most beloved bands are joining together to do their part in aiding the relief effort. On Wed, January 12, The Presidents Of The United States Of America and MxPx will take to the stage at the Showbox in downtown Seattle for an evening of rock & roll, marking the first time the two bands have shared a stage in their 10 year careers. The show will be presented by Seattle powerhouse alternative station KNDD-FM The End, The Stranger and Seattle Weekly and will also feature a performance from critically acclaimed, pre-teen indie-pop duo Smoosh.
Net proceeds from the show will be donated to the Northwest Medical Teams, a Portland-based group sending doctors, nurses, and paramedics with equipment and supplies to nations ravaged by the effects of the Tsunami.
Tickets will be $15 and the doors open at 7pm.
