Foo Fighters Show Their Softer Side On New Record

It seems just like yesterday when the Foo Fighters made their debut and kicked rock in the ass. Well, time has sure flown by, as the band is celebrating their ten-year anniversary with a new album. To celebrate their diamond anniversary, they are giving the world a double disc release as their fifth studio album. This is no drugged out epic concept album, but rather a way to show the band’s two distinctive sounds. This split-personality record will include a rock disc and a more sensitive, acoustic disc. Oh how the girls will swoon at the softer, gentler side of David Grohl.

About the dual disc release, Grohl told the BBC: The good thing about doing it is that you split it up so that there’s no middle ground. So the rock stuff is the most rocking stuff we’ve ever worked on, ever and the acoustic stuff will be the trippiest, most beautiful, sleepy music we’ve ever made, almost like a soundtrack.” Music for bar fights on disc one, and music for snuggling on disc two. The Foos are finishing up this as-yet-untitled record in their converted warehouse studio. Although there is no official release date, it should be out sometime this summer.
