Mclusky Announces Future Releases

First, the bad news: Yes, the Welsh trio is still broken up, which they announced on January 7. Don’t cry, my little indie rockers. A tiny bit of good news from the Mclusky camp has been posted on their official site. Although the band is no more, we can look forward to new music from bassist Jon Chapple’s new band Shooting At Unarmed Men in the not so distant future. Perhaps it is his involvement in this band that lead to Mclusky’s break-up, but the band is keeping that information private. Frontman Andy Falkous and drummer Jack Egglestone are currently working on new material together, with plans to release these songs later this year. We can also expect a box set or collection of some sort containing singles, b-sides, rarities, and live recordings. Although there have been rumors of a possible DVD, the official word is there are no plans right now for such a release. At this point, any good news from Mclusky has helped soothe the pain from their breakup. Until the release of these upcoming projects, I will still continue to weep with my copy of Mclusky Do Dallas.
