Madchester Legends Unite For Shows

Manchester is giving London a run for it’s money as two big bands from back in the “Madchester” daze of the late ’80s announce two shows. Get yer flares on and trip on down to see the Happy Mondays and The Farm on March 25th & 26th as they play two special shows at London’s Carling Brixton Academy. The gigs will also feature DJ slots from fellow Manc legends Primal Scream’s Mani and Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boon. The co-headlining shows have support coming from Stone Roses tribute band The Clone Roses on the second date. Will Mani join then on stage? Does it get any better?

The dates are The Farm’s first in ten years and Happy Mondays’s second and third UK shows since 2000, following their one-off Get Loaded In The Park appearance last summer. Mondays front man Shaun Ryder and his dancing sidekick Bez [pictured] both hinted that they may play again so look out. Come to America. “Build it and they will come” Field of Dreams-stylee.
