Mod Aid Release Single For Tsunami

In 1985, Band Aid saw the elite of rock and pop work together to fight famine in Africa with the release of the single “Do They Know It’s Christmas”. At that same time the faces of the mod movement leant their labor to the cause with the release of the Spectrum track “All Or Nothing” for charity. Twenty years on, there is still famine in Africa and the world is not responding to the tsunami that affected Asia.

According to the official Mod Aid site, Biff Bang Pow Records are putting together Mod Aid 20 to record a cover of the Small Faces classics “Wotcha Gonna Do ’bout It?” and “Afterglow” with all profits from the resulting single going to the Band Aid charity and charities working to provide relief in those areas effected by the tsunami.

The session will feature musicians from the Mod scene past and present including, Ronnie Wood, Steve Cradock, PP Arnold, Art Wood, The Action, The Risk, Small World, The Points, The Chords, The Threads, The Automatics, and a slew of others. The cd is slated to be released February 21. For more information check out Mod Aid.
