Stereolab Reunites With Too Pure

Stereolab has found a new home for their Duophonic label, reviving a partnership with Too Pure. This is actually a reunion of sorts, as Too Pure released the group’s earliest EPs. According to their official site, a reissue of their 1992 compilation Switched On will hit stores on February 22. Need even more? How about a three-disc boxed set? This compilation, titled Oscillons From The Anti-Sun, is set for release in late April or early May. A must have for Stereolab fans, it will feature two discs worth of EP and rare tracks, along with a DVD. Plans are also in the works to release two or three new singles and/or EPs by the end of 2005.

As if those releases weren’t enough for one year, frontwoman Laetitia Sadier’s side project Monade will release A Few Steps More on March 8. Those waiting for the next full-length Stereolab release will have to wait until 2006. The band has begun work on their follow-up to 2004’s Margerine Eclipse, and a US tour is rumored to follow.
