Coldplay Investigates Album Leak

Rumors are swirling around the Coldplay camp about a possible leak of several tracks from their upcoming album. According to The Sun, Chris Martin & Co. discovered that six tracks from their untitled new record were posted illegally on a music filesharing website. The band’s management immediately scrambled their fleet of lawyers to investigate the leak.

The files were discovered yesterday, but it turns out that it may have all been a hoax. When fans logged into the site to download the pirated tracks, the only audio was faint static. Unless the new Coldplay album is 60 minutes of silence, the tracks are still safe and sound. The pressure of creating a proper follow-up to their phenomenal A Rush Of Blood To The Head nearly caused the group to split, and made Martin begin to lose his hair. We can only assume that a nervous breakdown would have occurred if the tracks truly leaked.

As we all wait patiently to legally hear the new tunes, rumors of tour dates are also circulating around, including a possible appearance at this year’s Coachella Festival. About their upcoming shows, drummer Will Champion said: “We’ll start off with some small gigs and then go to America for some of what they call ‘buzz gigs’. We’ve got some great plans to play some interesting places though. I don’t know when and where yet.”
