Electronic duo Royksopp is hoping to have their sophomore album ready for release on Astralwerks this summer. Speaking with Billboard, the band said that even though their debut was called Melody A.M., the new release would be even more melodic, adding, “For those who want the atmospheric pieces that were on our last one, they’ll probably have to wait for the third album.” The duo of Torbjorn Brundtland and Svein Berge (they’re from Norway) also promised more vocals the forthcoming release than their debut, but did not reveal who any of the guest singers might be.
In 2002, Royksopp experienced worldwide success with their single “Poor Leno”, which featured Kings Of Convenience’s Erlend Oye, a feat they hope to accomplish again. “We always feel we have to move on and venture into things we really haven’t done before,” Brundtland told Billboard. “Working with Erlend was a thing we hadn’t done before when we did it, and we’re trying to keep that attitude.”
