Maximo Park Finishes Album

You have heard us all mention Maximo Park almost daily. Although that is not hard to do when the band’s debut is coming up, and the EP that is floating around is so impressive. If you are like us and can’t wait for the full then you should be happy to know that they have finished recording their debut album, which is due out in May.

According to NME, the Newcastle five-piece completed sessions with producer Paul Epworth (Babyshambels and Bloc Party) in New York with Rich Costey (Rick Rubin’s personal engineer). “It was good to finish the album and be working with a hungry producer because we’re a hungry young band and we’ve managed to capture the energy of the band live,” said singer Paul Smith. “We think it’s faultless pop record and it pushes pop music in a slightly different direction.”

The guys at Warp are putting together a string of North Amercian dates so be sure and be on the lookout. Maximo Park will also be playing at this year’s SXSW.
