Coldplay Album Release Delayed

I have some bad news for those of you anxiously waiting for the release of the new Coldplay album. The tentative spring release has know been pushed to June, which could also change as well. According to Billboard, the band is continuing to tweak the final mixes of the songs, which is the cause of the delay. Bummer.

So what will the new tunes sound like? A posting on the band’s official newsletter by drummer Will Champion said: “It’s like a natural progression from the last record. The difference between “In My Place” and “Clocks” on A Rush Of Blood To The Head represented the change between the oldest and the newest songs of that album and there are songs that kind of pick up where “Clocks” left off, but also ones that have moved on a bit.”

The band has hinted at a few summertime performances, including a rumor of a headlining spot at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. US fans will have to flock to California to catch the band, as the only confirmed dates for now are March 12 for a KCRW benefit show at the Universal Amphitheater and April 30 at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Time to rack up some frequent flyer miles!
