Mando Diao’s Rock & Roll Hurricane Roars Into North America In April

Borlänge, Sweden’s garage/rock/soul sensations Mando Diao will release their highly anticipated sophomore album, Hurricane Bar, on March 8 via our pals at Mute. The album offers the same classic rhythm & blues-inspired sound, though this time around, the influences lean a bit more towards Clash-esque punk than the early American soul of their debut. Sure to be a hit with fans old and new, Hurricane Bar was produced by multi-Grammy winning producer Richard Rainey, best known for his work on U2’s All That You Can’t Leave Behind.

Mando Diao will launch a North American tour in support of Hurricane Bar in late April with back-to-back shows at NYC’s Mercury Lounge on April 25 and 26, the second of which will be with The Raveonettes. From there, the band will head across North America, hitting clubs in (mostly) major markets along the way. Interestingly enough, the 23-date tour will come to a close exactly one month after it’s launch with another Mercury Lounge gig on May 25.
