Just the thought of Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo at the Playboy Mansion grotto, sandwiched between two Playmates, seems a bit odd. It is this fish out of water image that the band is going for with the video for their new single, “Beverly Hills”. Yes, the alt-poppers invaded the mansion o’ nakedness to film a music video. Let the whacky hijinks begin!
On a posting from their official website, the band said: “Today was a long day of work on the “Beverly Hills” video over at the Playboy Mansion, where the very odd mixture of real Weezer fans, Weezer and Playboy Playmates resulted in a weird, hilarious and oddly unified experience. The whole production crew kicked major ass as well, as did the Playmates and a certain swinging patriarch who lent a hand in the proceedings.”
The band’s fifth album is still untitled and has no firm release date, although May has been buzzing around as a possibility. Look for the Hef and Rivers extravaganza to land on a channel that sometimes plays music videos soon.
