Live – The Stands Perform At Cornerstone Promotion

Yesterday afternoon the Cornerstone Promotion NYC staff was fortunate to have The Stands perform a few acoustic songs in our office. Frontman Howie Payne was armed with an acoustic guitar, harmonica and a selection of great songs of both old and new. He performed “All Years Leaving”, “When This River Rolls Over You”, “Here She Comes Again”, and even a freshly recorded and still unreleased new single. During the opening of “When This River Rolls Over You”, Payne commented that Bob Dylan’s lawyer would be calling at any moment. Yes, the Dylan influences are present in his music, as are those of the Byrds, the Beatles, and Neil Young. If you have not heard their latest album All Years Leaving, get your hands on a copy as soon as humanly possible.

The Stands have a few more NYC dates left, including two nights in a row at the Mercury Lounge. If this band happens to be stopping in a town near you, do not miss out on their blue-jean clad ‘60s fueled rock. Expect a full review of tonight’s performance next week on The Tripwire.
