Coldplay Return At The Speed Of Sound

Some details about Coldplay’s upcoming new album have finally been made public. According to their official site, the record will be titled X&Y, with a UK release date of June 6th on Parlophone. The first single off the new album will be titled “Speed Of Sound”, which will make its way into stores on May 23rd.

The follow-up to their 2002 album A Rush Of Blood To The Head was recorded by Danton Supple (Morrissey, Elbow) and Ken Nelson (Badly Drawn Boy, Kings Of Convenience). About the record, guitarist Jonny Buckland said: “We wanted to try new things out, to move our sound along, but the focus remains on the songs, and Chris’ voice is sounding amazing. Everyone is playing at the top of their game.”

Coldplay will be embarking on their largest world tour, with US dates to be announced soon.
