Live – Baboon Take Stage

As I am sure that you are all well aware SXSW is upon us and the weather last night was less than impressive for Texas. I needed to see some good music to bring up the spirits. OK music people, listen up. Last night I caught the greatness of Denton-rockers Baboon at Austin’s Room 710 at SXSW. Yes, it was maybe not listed as one of the hot-shit shows (ie Bloc Party) but I have known about the guys for years from my days in Texas, and had to represent. It has been about three years since I have seen the guys take the stage, and was I in for a treat. Playing a mixture of their older stuff and a few new tunes, they managed to keep the crowd screaming and wanting more. Highlights included “Sucker”, “Evil”, and “Night of the Long Knives”. In case you are not aware of whom Baboon are they have been around for about ten years and have sustained being on a label and off and on. Their new album comes out later this year. A&R people take note. If you know what is good for you then you will check out some of their music and video on their official site.
