The Dears Invade NYC

Montreal-based buzz band The Dears, who did quite well on many 2004 best of polls, will be invading New York this week for a pair of headlining gigs. Supporting their latest release, No Cities Left, the band will perform at Maxwell’s on Friday, March 25, and at the Bowery Ballroom the following day with Crooked Fingers. After this short stint away, The Dears will then return to the opening slot on the Soundtrack Of Our Lives North American tour.

However, before all of that, The Dears will be playing an in-store at the Virgin Megastore in Union Square. Tomorrow at 5:45 p.m., you can catch The Dears for free. According to a label spokesperson, the band aren’t cool with stripping down for an in-store. It’s all all or nothing with them, so they’ll be performing with a full band set up.

And just cuz we love you. The first person to email us @ today@thetripwire.com with “DEARS” in the SUBJECT line will win a free pair of tix for the band’s Saturday night Bowery show (well, actually it will be a guest list spot, but you know what I mean).
