Billy Corgan To Cover Bee Gees

Former Smashing Pumpkins and Zwan frontman Billy Corgan has been hard at work on his debut solo album. XFM is reporting a June 21 release date for TheFutureEmbrace here in the US, which will include one of the most bizarre choices for a cover yet. Corgan teamed with with The Cure’s Robert Smith to cover the Bee Gees ‘To Love Somebody”.

About this collaboration, Corgan said: “The Cure is one of my favorite bands of all time. Robert is a good friend of mine, so it’s a dream come true. That song’s sort of a gem that not everyone will know.”

About the new album, he added: “Many people assume when I do more progressive work that I am trying to move away from something, when honestly what I am trying to do is get closer to who I really am. I tried to sum up all my feelings about my life and the world around me in the most beautiful ways I could dream up. It is easy to be negative, and much harder to find that silver lining behind the clouds of modern society.”

Here is the tracklisting for TheFutureEmbrace:

01. “All Things Change”
02. “Mina Loy (M.O.H.)
03. “TheCameraEye”
04. “To Love Somebody”
05. “A100”
